Are You Still Using Windows XP?

Windows XP - The Elephant in the Room

That's the title of an article by Askey127, an Admin/Teacher at the Malware Removal Forum. If you are currently using Windows XP, you probably know that it's winding down in its end of life cycle. Microsoft will cease support of this particular operating system on April 8, 2014.

What does this mean for you as an XP user? Well, it means there will be no further security updates for your computer's operating system. That means that newly discovered vulnerabilities will go unpatched and will soon be exploited by malicious entities. I know... you have a good antivirus, you use a firewall, and you're careful about clicking on links. That won't matter... neither your antivirus nor your firewall can protect you from these as yet unknown exploits, nor will safe computing practices. They may help, but in the end you will lose the battle. So, what can you do?

You may be able to upgrade your operating system, or you may switch to something entirely different, or it may be time to upgrade to a new computer. Read the article, then think it over and decide what's best for you: Windows XP - The Elephant In The Room
